Barbican Film is delighted to host a UK theatrical premiere of this stunning contemporary opera on film and welcome director Julien Temple to discuss the work following the screening.

For almost 40 years, Arthur Stace, an ex-alcoholic war veteran, skulked through the nocturnal streets of Sydney , chalking the word 'Eternity' in perfect copperplate script.

Director Julien Temple's bravura treatment of the stage opera by Australian composer Jonathan Mills and poet Dorothy Porter presents a wild, intoxicated vision of a man - and a city - undergoing violent change.
